Marcus Cole joined Commissioned after Marvin Sapp left for solo work after the album Irreplaceable Love. His entry into Commissioned was a drivng force, as he wrote and helped compose and produce many songs for the album Time & Seasons, sometimes along with Mitchell Jones. He also released a solo album recently entitled Chillin' Up In Heaven, with Terrence Herd as a musician. His voice sounds a little bit like a younger Marvin Sapp, only a little bit flatter in sound. His voice during the album Time & Seasons (and also on the Commisssioned Reunion) helps rejuvenate the sound of Commissioned. The combined voices of Marcus Cole and Chris Poole sound nice, resembling earlier Commissioned albums, along with the voices of Karl Reid and Mitchell Jones. Some of his best songs on Time & Seasons are "Walk Right", "Testify", "Barach You", "Ordinary Just Won't Do", and "Psalms 84".
