Eddie Howard was only a member of Commissioned during the album Number 7. Before this he had done projects with the Church of God and Christ and the Clark Sisters, who according to some, sound much like Commissioned, only in a female form. although he only was in the group, he helped to make this album a success. He helped compose "Second Chance", and "Secret Place", and played keyboards on the different tracks of the album Number 7. He also arranged and played in the duet song between Commissioned and the Clark Sisters, in the song "Lift Up Your Heads All Ye Gates" from the album composed by Various Artists entitled Handel's Messiah: A Soulful Celebration. After leaving the group he did more projects with Anita Baker, Mattie Moss-Clark, Fred Hammond, and released an album, The Word, in 2002 from New Spirit. Some other artists that he has worked with are the COGIC International Mass Choir, Carman, Fred Hammond, Earl Wright, and Doug Williams.
